Policy Spotlight

Tackling health care issues, including cardiovascular disease (CVD), requires many different groups to work together on policy. Doctors, patients, politicians, and others play a crucial role: identifying problems and what needs to be done, how to communicate this, and how to ensure that action is taken.

This section gives an overview of some of the important policy initiatives underway to tackle CVD in Europe.

The examples show how the European Parliament and other institutions, including patient groups, are focusing on heart disease. Some are calling for concrete government action on prevention, and others are highlighting the impact of cardiovascular disease in different European countries.

In addition to a focus on important policy principles and how to add your voice to the debate, we will continue to add information to this section, including what is being done in different countries across Europe.
